This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies that JLO Veterinary Services, LLC, doing business as Critical Signal (“Critical Signal,” “we,” “us”), uses in the Critical Signal platform, including the Critical Signal web portal and incident reporting forms (the “Platform”). It supplements our Privacy Policy at www.criticalsignalvet.com/privacy-policy.
What We Use and Why
The Platform uses only cookies and device storage that are strictly necessary to provide the service you or your organization have asked for: signing you in and keeping your session secure, processing payments, remembering settings you choose, and saving work in progress. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to follow you across other websites. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies
The Platform sets cookies only for these purposes:
- Sign-in and security. To keep you signed in, renew your session, and protect your account against forged requests.
- Payments. On payment screens, our payment processor sets cookies to prevent fraud.
Other Technologies on Your Device
Some Platform features store information in your browser, or install a small component that lets the Platform run as an app, rather than using a cookie. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us unless it is part of something you submit. We use it only for these purposes:
- Sign-in and security. To keep your sign-in consistent across open tabs, and to remember that you signed out.
- Preferences. To remember settings you choose, such as date format, alerts and dashboard layout, and that you have seen our cookie notice.
- Saving your work. To keep an unfinished report or sign-up so it is not lost. Report drafts are deleted after one hour.
- Faster loading. To keep copies of your organization’s branding and form setup so pages load quickly. This is not analytics.
- App install. To let you install the Platform as an app and remember its window size.
Critical Signal Staff Tools
Some cookies and device storage are used only when Critical Signal support staff sign in to help your organization. They are never set for customer accounts.
Third-Party Services
- Stripe, Inc. Processes payments and checks them for fraud. Only on payment screens. Privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
- Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that an organization sign-up is made by a person, not an automated program. Only on organization sign-up. Privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
We do not allow third parties to place advertising or analytics technologies on the Platform.
Your Choices
Because these cookies are strictly necessary, the Platform does not offer a setting to turn them off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will not be able to sign in or use the Platform without them. Clearing your browser’s site data removes the device storage described above.
Changes
If we add a new category of cookie or storage, or change how we use an existing category, we will update this policy and its date. If we ever propose to use anything that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first.
