Erin Daniels
Founder, Chief Medical Officer
I am a board-certified Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialist. My education includes a Bachelor of Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree both obtained at Louisiana State University. Following graduation, I completed a 1-year rotating internship at Affiliated Animal Care in Chesapeake, Virginia and a 3-year residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, Massachusetts. Following residency, I spent the next decade working to establish the specialty of Emergency and Critical Care in my hometown, New Orleans, Louisiana and to grow an immersive and robust training program for veterinarians pursuing clinical post-graduate education.
In a field in which small errors or oversight can drastically affect outcomes, I developed a mindset focused on clarity, communication, and anticipating problems before they arose. Through my experiences as Director of training programs as well as the Department Head of Emergency Medicine, my passion for pursuing medical quality and patient safety was established. I truly believe that the health and sustainability of the veterinary profession highly depend on our collective ability to build systems that serve us and our patients, to collaborate and innovate when opportunities arise, and to recognize that punitive responses to perceived failures only serve to devalue our work with time.
